Hi, I know this is an old post, but still wanted to join in. I just received a tiny morkie from my husband as a gift. She looks just like yours! All black with a tad of white under her chin. She is four & a half months old. She only weights 2.6 pounds! I was wondering how old yours was when you got him and how big he is. I didn't know dogs could be so small at this age! I am trying to house break her with the crate method. I heard they can take longer to train than other dogs. What is your experienc with this? Also she seems to have tearing eyes, any cure for that? Sorry for so many questions! Just trying to find out as much as I can about how to take care of this tiny new charge!

Hi PJB. Thanks for joining in. So you've also joined the growing ranks of Morkie owners! Timmy was less than two pounds when we got him. And yes, his eyes were tearing a lot when he was young. But that stopped after a little while. I think the crate (or cage) approach should work just fine. We taught him where to go to the bathroom without much trouble. But he's been a handful in other areas, being a spirited only pup. And, I think we stopped the cage training too early. Also, I'm told that's the Maltese in him. Apparently they demand a lot of attention. Bear in mind I haven't owned too many dogs, so I'm no expert. But, if yours is anything like ours, expect some fun and challenges.

Oh, and to answer Daniela, my wife knew someone through work who got Timmy him by mistake. This breeder normally does Yorkies. But it appears to be a growing breed, so I'm sure breeders will be popping up!

Hope this helps.
Tom
